Rattlers race by Paul Quinn for 2nd straight win

LAREDO, Texas — St. Mary's relied on its rapidly improving post play to snag another victory Friday, routing Paul Quinn 91-59 in the final game of the Courtyard Marriott Classic.

Post player Petar Radojicic scored 13 points, while Zach Jarzombek scored a career-high 10 points off the bench in a game the Rattlers (3-7) won the points-in-the-paint battle 42-22.

Skyler Brooks scored a team-high 14 points, including 2 for 6 from 3-point range, while point guard Juwan Green chipped in 13 points and six assists to help lead the Rattlers to their second straight victory.

Freddie Williams, coming off a hot Game 1 in the tournament, was named to the All-Tournament Team. The senior totaled 18 points, seven rebounds, five steals and three assists over the two games.

Against Paul Quinn, the Rattlers shot 51 percent from the floor (31 of 61), 53 percent from the 3-point line (8 of 15) and converted 21 free throws.

St. Mary's will open up Heartland Conference play against St. Edward's on Wednesday, when the Rattlers travel to Austin, Texas to take on the Hilltoppers. The game will tip at 7:30 p.m.
